Barone was in the fourth season of Seinfeld Episode The Shoes as Gail Cunningham an executive chef, who was looking for Elaine Benes shoes. In the early 1990s she was a regular cast member of Carol & Company with actress Carol Burnett. Barone was Carol Willick Ross Geller's ex-wife during the first Friends appearance. Jane Sibbett replaced her after she quit to accept a full-time job. She appeared on The Jeff Foxworthy Show in the first season (from 1995-1996) as well as in The War at Home from 2005 between 2005 and 2007. In 2000 Barone was also a co-star on The sitcom Daddio. Barone won the Methodfest Best Supporting Actress Award 2005 in 2004 for her performance on the film One Last Ride. Barone began her character as the mother of Bella Thorne and CeCe Jones in 2010 - three years following The War at Home concluded it's running. The actor who plays Barone's husband Matthew Glave guest starred in two episodes of Shake It Up as J.J. Jones who was the husband of the character played by Barone.
